Thupten Jinpa, principal English translator to the Dalai Lama since 1985 and a major editor of the Library of Tibetan Classics, surveys the lojong (mind-training) tradition. He explains how short aphoristic teachings such as the Seven Points of Mind Training operate as practical instructions for cultivating compassion and dissolving self-grasping.

Since 1985, Jinpa has been the principal translator to the Dalai Lama, accompanying him to the United States, Canada, and Europe. He is an accomplished author and translator.
