Mooji guides a meditation on learning to disengage from the accumulation of intention, memory, and story that the mind carries. By simply detaching, the truth reveals itself — not through effort but through the dropping of what obscures it.

Guided Meditation — Detach, Let Go and Fully Be 2 June 2024 (with subtitles) [Mooji] Just learn to disengage. Learn this simple, simple thing. And tell me when it fails you. Detach, detach detach. Because even by saying this, we realise that we're carrying around so much intention, so much memory, so many duties, to-do lists, and all kinds of stuff is just constantly pulsating somewhere. I said, No. Now you do. We're not even going to say in five... Now you do it. This is the 'Just Be' exercise. Now you do it. Just do it. 'I have a que ...' No! Drop this one now. 'I have a que ...' No, drop this one right now. Let go. Let go. Be in the now, with things. Let go. You'll see some things that you feel, 'I can't let go'. Let go. Choose. Let go doesn't mean throw them over the hill and crush them into powder. It just means detach! Learn to detach. And gradually, you see, 'Whoa, wait a second'. Even some things you begin to see, sometimes for the first time, what the clinging is about. There are some things we are unconsciously clinging onto. But when I ask you to detach, you start to see what they are. You made an inner family of noise and commitments and pressures. So learn! You're here now, you came here, with me, we're here just a few moments. Detach, let go. I'm not talking about it! I'm telling you let go! Right? Is it a risk? You may find, 'I don't know if I can let go ...' No, let go of it. Be empty! Like the state that you entered into deep sleep, willingly take it in your waking state. Let go of everything, where you're conscious of it. Who's on board with this right now? [sangha raise hands] [M.] Yes. Do it. Do it. Do it right now. Do that. Just let ... Sometimes the mind says, 'OK, I got it, I got it'. No, no. Let go of it. How empty can you be? And you realise that, however old you are, maybe you've never consciously done this. [laughs] We're always logged in, to some intention, some kind of movement. Now, just do it now! Empty empty empty empty. Even if some things feel, 'Oh no, I can't let go'. No, let ... Be like a detached witness, but one who has no shape. Some subtle images may form in the mind. No, no, let them. Whatever. Detach. Don't follow them. Discover that space of pure emptiness. Sometimes the mind will argue against it, 'What's the point? You know what that's like.' No! Let go. Just do it. Persist. There's no need to visualise anything at all. The very mind itself will often rebel in the beginning, as though it cannot bear this ... It's always counting something. Just let go. Don't call it an exercise or a trick. Just let go. You may catch the trickiness of the mind. It's OK. Let him be there. Don't try and correct him. I say, let go of it. Without any expectation of anything to come, in this waking state consciousness, detached from all the stuff offered through the mind. Any sense of a problem or duty, let go of them. This freedom you have. All. [indicates all gone] And don't go to sleep. Sometimes, the mind will come to say, 'What's the point?' 'It's a waste of time, we're not doing anything.' Damn right! And not waiting. Don't touch 'next'. The mind grows in 'next'. No next! Where is the stress? Where are the techniques needed? What is here, in and as this emptiness? What is here? A victim? A victor? No! Drop everything. Are you paralysed? Bound? Worthless? It's meaningless stuff. Value or no value. All is the mind! The mind itself will say, 'OK. You've done well. That's good. OK, let's get back to normal.' Are you bound? Are you bound? Paralysed? What is your state? What are your obligations? Just leave them for a moment. You deserve a little time. Try. This moment, we're not talking about It. You are It! Your Self is not a technique. It does not have to prove anything. Doubts are mere mental creations. Even belief you don't need. Leave even belief and disbelief. All these things, leave for a moment. See when you reach suffering. Come on. [See] when you reach suffering. Don't create. You need no images. If they come, let them come. But don't log into anything. Accept no favours. No promises. Just Be! And to say, Just Be, the 'Be' is not a verb. It's not to do 'Be'. It's here. Effortless. Complete. Is there a history here? Plans? Do you exist less? Be here, in and as, the ground of being itself. No pictures. Is It, in itself, an exercise? In this place, is there nervousness? Insecurity? Confidence? Leave all that. Even the sense of presence. Don't cling to anything. Stay awake. Then when the images come, thoughts, the mind, traffic, all that can come, does it take This away? Actions, reactions, interactions unfold spontaneously. Old habits say, 'You can't trust this. You need a technique, need a plan, need a strategy.' Relax. Let it all go. Move in This as This. The momentum of habit, the force of habit will try to reassert. It will tell you, 'That was a nice exercise. OK, let's get on with things.' Let things get on. Find your Self. In all of this, you're here. Pure uncluttered unrestricted awareness. Speak not about it. Marinate your attention in it. It will inform your life. Everyone is so tight: life following the mind and projections; all tight and rigid. And recognise this is not sleep. The mind activity, ego, tries to bring in sleep. It's a way of avoiding the power of the pure presence. Unmixed. When will this be over? Where did it start? When will it be over? If you sit with this, like this, you don't have to read any books, even spiritual books. The Truth will reveal itself in you. It's searching for the space that it can unfold its beauty in you. But we have been too busy, planning to meet the Truth. Truth and your Self are one. So honour that. When I say, Invest in it, all I'm saying is give some attention, just to be here. Is it time wasted? No. Actually, it's beyond time. OK, good. Go back to the mind now. We're good, good. [laughter] Throw it away! Throw it away. Throw this emptiness away. You've made use of it now. Do it! What is it? Only honouring the emptiness, in which all things dance momentarily. They come and go, appear and disappear, inside this unnameable limitless. Could you possibly be this? Of course, you cannot put it on your resumé. Thank you. I don't mind if you have nothing to show for your time here. [laughter] Very good. 'You' without you. Don't tell anybody about that. Can it be lost? [Voices in sangha] No. Can it be kept? [Voices in sangha] No. Can it be hidden? [Voices in sangha] No. Ah, you had to think about it? [laughter] It appears as though ... This appearance is also maya. Very good. Thank you. [Voice in sangha] God bless you, Mooji. God bless you. [Mooji] Thank you, thank you. [Mooji] God bless all. [Another voice in sangha] God bless you! God bless you. Copyright 2024 Mooji Media Ltd. All Rights Reserved. No part of this recording may be reproduced without Mooji Media Ltd.'s express consent.
