Francis Lucille leads a guided non-dual meditation that asks the practitioner to investigate, on the basis of present sense experience alone, whether any actual border separates the inner world of thought and bodily sensation from the outer world of perception.

just sit comfortably and welcome the upcoming perceptions without any preferences without trying to do anything about them not even commenting about them so the past and the future don't count here because they're not real the only real experience is from momentum moment in the now now ask yourself the question solely based upon my current experience in the now without going into the past or into the future into concepts solely based upon my sensorial experience both the inner sense for which you perceive your bodily sensations and the outer senses sense of sight hearing etc through which we perceive the world solely based upon the input from our senses without thinking about it without conceptualizing this input do we perceive a border a separation between the inner world of thoughts and bodily sensations and the outer world of sense perceptions just go to your experience to find the answer and you'll see that there is no separation not separation comes later conceptually and then perhaps also on the level of feelings because i feel that some bodily sensations other bodily sensations as a wall are me whereas external sense perceptions are not me or to be more precise that bodily sensations tell me about me and external sense perceptions tell me about the world other than me but this separation is an operation of the mind it doesn't exist in our raw experience of the body and of the world now that is significant some will argue yes of course it's just childish because his raw experience of the body and the world is the one we had the first moment we were born and opened our eyes and saw the light and heal the sound the voice of our mother and of the doctors and nurses then as we grew up we knew better then the separation came so to revert to this indistinct perception of the body and of the the world is a regression regression into stupidity that would be the argument however if we understand deeply that there is only one reality in which everything is connected that this intellectual distinction between the inner world and the outer world is simply an abstraction of reality that is not real that the reality is global one piece then it appears that this apparently childlike view of the world and of the body was perfectly in sync with his more with his deeper view of the world and the body as being one single reality and that far from being childish it is simply childlike it doesn't mean that on a certain level a distinction can be made between the body and the world yes that surrounds it just as a distinction can be made between white and black but this distinction is not fundamental there is an underlying reality beyond all of these distinctions that is a substance shared by all of these distinctions so on a certain level yes the body and the world interact as to apparently separate entity but on a deeper level due to the fact that they interact deeply they have to be considered as one single reality a deeper view the deeper view is the view we use when things matter a deeper view is a view we use in matters of life and death when things matter a more superficial view is when it is not about life and death just as when we practice a sport there are rules there are rules to a tennis match or two golf tournament in order to play the match we abide by the rules as if they mattered but ultimately they don't if our serve goes out of the service box lands out of the service box we don't go to jail it's only a game so we have to understand the coexistence of these two vantage points of these two perspectives the one the day as a calls ordinary live day-to-day perspective when things don't really matter how we play this game but then when things matter then the perspective of oneness in fact in life we play many different games we play the game of being a parent a partner a son a friend a professional etc for each of these games we play there are different rules somehow but when we are not playing one of those games there is a default state if you will and the default state is the one of oneness without separation without distinction it is our place of safety to which we can revert to which we revert naturally when we know better at the end of each game or even during the game when there is a moment of rest like between games in tennis when we change signs then we rest in our default state now through nature when we stop for a while the game of being a parent the spouse etc and then we reconnect with a piece the worrylessness of our true state of our default state when we are nothing special not a partner a parent the child the friend or even a human being when we are nothing in particular when we are nothing that you can put a name on in other words when we just are without being something and that's what meditation is just to be without being something so the question is not to be or not to be the question is to be or to be something to be is peace and happiness to be something is misery becoming turmoil and death but ultimately if we are something it doesn't matter really because in our to be something we first have to be so the question to be or to be something is kind of a false question because in both case to be is there so to be something doesn't matter because you know not to be something we have to be first it just seems to matter and when it seems to butter it just means that you are playing a particular game the game of being something which is in fact the game that most of human beings prefer playing they playing all the time so we really enjoy playing the game of being something because it's full of adventure dangers catastrophes and suspense it's thrilling just be without being anything in particular that's meditation not even to meditate just to be what we already are from moment to moment to allow each of our thoughts to freedom to freely move into the space of the mind to allow every cell in our body so freedom to unfold according to its own [Music] natural perfection to let go of any attempt and intent to control the mind of the body which is anyway an illusion for we don't have this ability as a separate entity just to let the universe play its symphony within and without foreign you need to try to make use of these meditations they are what they are they connect you to the moment and beyond the moment to your timeless presence so what they are and predictable created on the razor's edge of the moment as reminders that we share this eternal moment nobody owns these words and they are not meant to stay but rather to evaporate without leaving any material trace behind just do your job reveal their source and vanish back into it there are the flowers from eternity you
